Cliff Washburn, Band Director
Mr. Washburn is the Director of Bands at Eufaula High School. He is a native of Flomaton, Alabama. This is Mr. Washburn’s fifth year with the EHS Mighty Tiger Band. He previously taught four years at Lanett High School in Lanett, Alabama. During his tenure there, his band won numerous awards including superior ratings and Best In Class at various marching band competitions, as well as superior ratings at District Band Assessment, and performed at the State Assessment Level.
At Eufaula, the EHS marching band has received superior ratings at many marching contests including last year at the Daleville Marching Festival & the Dothan Marching Competition. The EHS Symphonic Band has received superior ratings at District and State Band Assessments. They also received a 1st place trophy at the "Fiesta-Val" Music Festival in Virginia Beach, VA (2007) & in Myrtle Beach, SC (2011.)
Prior to entering the teaching field, Mr. Washburn received his Associate's Degree from Jefferson Davis Community College and his Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music Education from Auburn University concentrating on the trombone. While at Auburn, he participated in many musical ensembles including the prestigious Auburn University Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Campus Band, Trombone Choir, Brass Ensemble, as well as singing in the Auburn University Concert Choir and Vocal Chamber Ensemble. In 2002, Mr. Washburn was selected as Drum Major of the Auburn University Marching Band. He is affiliated with Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, Alabama Music Educator’s Association, Music Educator’s National Conference, and International Trombone Association.
